Can you imagine people being that attentive today to what the Lord has to say? They were very attentive. The enemies of the Lord couldn’t even find how to attack or harm Him. World Evangelism would advance by great leaps and bounds if we would but be attentive. The word attentive means that the people were literally hanging on His every word. Do we consider literally what He said to see what His will is for us and for His church? I am afraid that we passively read the Bible and listen to what He says and that is why the Great Commission doesn’t seem so important to us.
