It is a pleasure to be able to write to you, thanking God for your help and for your prayers.
Last month, God poured his blessings on the different ministries we are developing. I was in the
United States with Brother Mark Coffey from the twenty first of August until the twentieth of
September visiting various churches that, God willing, will become a part of the ministry in Peru.
Macedonia Baptist Seminary
We held the event entitled “Revelation” during the final week of August and the first weekends
of September. This was a representation of the rapture and later events in the tribulation period.
More than two thousand people came through the seminary, and more than 700 individuals made
decisions! Various brethren participated as actors as well as many of the young ladies from
different churches in our city. We have high expectations to repeat the same event next year.
We would like to thank the pastors and the churches in Arequipa that participated, as well as the
seminary students that helped with various commissions and representations.
I ask for your prayers for the Pastor’s and Leader’s School from October 5th to the 8th. During this
time we will have an invited speaker, Austin Gardner, as well brethren and pastors from Venezuela,
Bolivia, and Chile, as well as from various cities in our own country.
Hunter Baptist Church
We held our youth conference! Brother Edwin Chua was in charge. The event totaled 160 people
on September 11th. The church held another meeting, and young people from different churches in
our city attended. We are thankful for their participation.
On Sunday, the 26th, we baptized five individuals. They are being disciple by Joel Huisa, a
seminary student who is teaching this group. I ask for your prayers for them as he has a great part
in the young people’s ministry and a Bible study group.
Esmirna Baptist Church
The young ladies have initiated a prayer group that meets on Saturday mornings, just as they young
men already have. I thank God for the Valdivia family, Lalo and Marizol and for their love for
the work. Additionally, the individual in charge of the youth ministry has began a young people’s
meeting that meets on Saturdays at 4 pm. He has an average attendance of twelve.
Pastor Mauro Huaman has initiated a teen meeting as well. Each time more brethren are coming to
the meeting which meets separately from our meeting at 6 pm. I ask for your prayers for his mother
in law who is undergoing chemotherapy, the cost of which is very high. But, God is faithful!
Berea Baptist Church
We had a great group on Sunday, the 12th of September, with thirty three people. We continue with
our services on Sunday at 3 pm and Tuesdays at 7 pm.
Our churches will have special meetings on Sunday, October 3, 2010. Due to municipal elections,
they will all be held at 6:30 AM (only for this Sunday). The evening service will occur as normally
scheduled. We ask for your prayers for this special date for our country.
God continues to be faithful with the costs of this ministry. Students from age 10 to 12 participated
in district soccer. We will be holding a special day for our students on Thursday, the 23rd, in
observance of the Day of the Student.
Due to the trip I had, Pastor Alonso Montenegro of Faith Baptist Church, has been sharing very
interesting topics as well as Mariel Sotelo, the individual who began this ministry. God continues
to work and to provide.
Thank you once again for your prayers and faithfulness!
