Deuteronomy 3:24 O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?It is an exciting day for Joshua. He has quietly served Moses all these years. He has followed instructions. He has led the actual battles. Now God lets him know that he will be taking over. He lets Joshua know that the mighty hand of God is with him. Joshua will go out and do great things but it will not be Joshua but the God of Heaven doing the work. This is a sad day for Moses. He once again asks if he can go over and see the promised land. He wants to see what God has for them but God is angry because of his lack of obedience.
