Leviticus 11:33 And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.
Many people get lost reading all the Old Testament laws. They wonder why God was so strict and ridiculous. I, however, am always shocked at the wonderful things He was teaching His people. Science had not learned any of it yet but the Jews knew because of divine revelation.
In this verse God is warning them about the pots, pans, plans, bowls, and cups that they used. If something unclean, dirty got on a clay vessel they were to break it and throw it away.
If not, of course, it would be contaminated because the germs could get into the pores of the clay and stay there.
They certainly didn’t understand why but then you do not have to understand Him if you believe. He wouldn’t be telling you something to do that wasn’t for your own good.
What a God we serve! Before science knew it He knew how to protect His people from germs.
When you read the Bible know you are holding a divine book in your hand. It had knowledge no one dreamed of in those days, only because God wrote it.
Read it knowing that God is speaking!
