New Testament Ministry

Isaiah 61:1-2 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

These two verses are the verses Jesus preached when He began His ministry in the New Testament. These are verses that He used to sound the battle call for the New Testament ministry.

He quoted these verses and stopped just before the “day of vengeance!”

Notice the words that should characterized our ministry today, “good tidings,” “binding up,” “liberty,” “freedom for the bound,” and “the acceptable year.” This is a time of grace. A time of great joy would sum up the time we live in right now.

We are allowed to tell men everywhere that God has done the work on the cross of Calvary. We come with super good news. These should be happy days, days of glad tidings!

Let’s take this good news to the world!
