Isaiah 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Many times I have said that you can take the Bible and learn a little here and a little there but I am afraid that is not what this is saying.
To learn by precept on precept and line upon line was to learn like a child. It was taking the deep things of God and making it like a nursery rhyme.
It was as though the adults had no intention of diligently dedicating themselves to study and learn what God had for them.
Even when it was made so simple that a child could get it they didn’t apply it to their lives.
Instead of applying it to their lives they go backward, fall, and are snared.
What is the attitude you have towards the Word of God? Do you diligently study it and seek Him? Can we really expect to take the most serious things in life so lightly and learn, know, and do what He tells us?
