Psalm 143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
David is in trouble in this psalm. He has problems. He is getting very discouraged. Psalm 143:7. He knows better than to ask God for what He deserves because no one is right on his own in the eyes of God Psalm 143:2. His enemies are attacking him.
David asks the Lord to remind him of His love for him in the morning. He is trusting God even in the midst of his problems. He is asking God to show him where to go and what to do. He is lifting his soul up to God.
This is exactly what we should do every time we are in trouble. David even knows that he doesn’t deserve help but he still turns to the Lord. He humbles himself and seeks the Lord’s face. He begs for mercy and reminds the Lord that he is His servant.
I want to do the same and so should you!
