Psalm 67:1-3 God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
Do you notice how the verses go together. If you taken one out of context it would be that God would be merciful to us, bless us, and cause His face to shine on us.
If you take it in context it is that He will do all of that that His way will be known upon all the earth. That all can know of His saving health. The goal is that all the people would praise Him.
I wonder how often we think that His blessings are for us to have a good life and to enjoy them. I wonder how often we pray for blessings for selfish reasons.
I wonder how often we consider that all He does is so that He can be praised by all people all over the world.
