Lost people do not have it better

Psalm 37:1-7 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

One of the biggest temptations Satan brings into our life is for us to watch lost people and to be jealous. Somehow we begin to think that they have a better life than we do.

We begin to remember when we were lost and how good things went. We begin to get bitter at God because things are not going that well for us.

David felt the same thing on occasion and so he here instructs us on what to do and how to think.

First, we need to know that though it seems like the lost people are having a good time it is only temporary. Things may be going well now but they shall soon be cut down. Judgment is coming so you are not to be jealous or worry about the seemingly good times that they are having.

Secondly, we are to trust God and to wait on Him. He will deliver us. He will give us the good land. He will feed us.

We are simply to go to Him and place our lives and plans in His hands. We continue to do right. We continue to love and trust Him. When He is ready He will make things happen in our lives.

The true goal of our hearts and lives is to delight in Him anyway. Our goal is not to find our satisfaction and delight in land, success, or things. We are to look to the Lord Jesus.

Just do right. Seek God. And He will always reward us for our loving and glorifying Him.
