2Chronicles 14:11 And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.
Asa knows that God is all powerful and can do what He wants. He realizes that he has no power. He is in trouble and he needs help so he turns to the only One with the power to make a difference, the Lord his God.
Asa clarifies to the Lord that his purpose and object is what God wants him to do. He is not doing his will but God’s will. He is only working in the place of and name of the Lord God of Heaven.
He is trusting God to work and move. He fully realizes that if God doesn’t work then nothing will happen.
There are some tremendous lessons for us. We all know that God is the only One that can make a difference. We realize that there are many things that are beyond our power or ability.
We need to get our lives in line with His purposes. So that we are doing His will and working on His plans and purposes.
We then need to trust God to do the work in and through us.
