Dear Pastors and Praying Friends, We are rejoicing once again for all that God has done here in Peru over the last month. He is constantly exceeding all our expectations and doing miracle after miracle. People are being saved, lives are being changed and the name of Christ is being lifted up and magnified through all of this. His glory is our main objective, and it is being accomplished! He is so good! Here are just a few of the many blessings that we have seen this past month: Church Organization: After months of preparation, we were able to take a huge step in organizing Omega Baptist Church. We had fifty four people that signed the church covenant, stating they wanted to be founding members of the Church. It was a very exciting time! We had a group of eight people come down from our home church, including our pastor, Austin Gardner. We thank God for a home church that is willing to be a part of their missionaries lives and support us, not only financially, but also by physically being present for such special times in our church’s life. Giancarlo Accepted Christ: This young man has had a terrible past involving great amounts of hatred and abuse stemming from his family. He is eighteen years old and has been mistreated most of his life. His mother would not be considered a good mother and his father is nowhere to be seen. He has been the breadwinner for his home since he was about sixteen years old. He has been around the gospel for a long time, but never accepted Christ as his personal savior. I pulled him aside a couple of weeks ago and asked him if he had a relationship with Jesus Christ. He told me he didn’t, and began to share with me why. He explained that many times he would lay awake at night and cry about all of the things that people had done to him. All of the abuse, all of the hurt. He told me he would lay there and tell himself that one day he would have his revenge, one day he would pay them all back. It was quite sad to hear how much hatred an eighteen year old young man had in his heart. He told me that he would have to get rid of the hatred and bitterness before he could accept Christ. I continued to explain that only God could take that hurt, bitterness and hatred and release him of that bondage. Only Christ could offer true freedom! A week later, he took me aside and told me he had thought about it, and he could never do it on his own. He was ready to give his burden to Jesus Christ. With tears streaming down his face, he asked the Heavenly Father to save him from his bondage. It was a beautiful thing to see. Praise God for the blood of the Lamb that was slain! It is a fountain flowing for all who are thirsty. I thank Him for allowing me to be a part in his ministry of reconciliation. He is good! Please continue to pray for more people that need the grace of Christ in their lives. We are so privileged to be a part of all this. Thank you for making it possible to do this. If it weren’t for your prayers or support we would not be able to do what we are doing. Thank you! For His Glory, David and Katie Gardner Missionaries to Peru Macedonia World Baptist Missions
