2Samuel 16:12 It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.
David is being run out of his own kingdom. People are wanting to take his life. He is now being cursed and insulted by a little man of no real importance. David’s nephew and mighty man wants to take off his head.
Instead David tells him to allow the man to continue to insult him because maybe God will see him suffering and handling it right and reward him for the cursing.
When we are down we usually want to strike back. We want to protect ourselves. We want to cry out for our rights but not David. He realizes that God will vindicate him.
He only wants to handle the mistreatment correctly. God give us this wisdom.
