1Samuel 30:24 For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.
It is easy to develop an attitude of superiority if you are the goer and not the sender. In this story some of David’s men got so tired that they could not go on. They stayed, instead, by the stuff.
When the team came home some were so arrogant and angry that they said-don’t let them take part in the victory and the prizes of war that we have won.
David said that it would not be so. He said that those that went and those that stayed would share alike.
Paul told the Philippians that as they sent offerings to the work that God was adding fruit to their account. Maybe they weren’t going but they were enjoying the benefits of going. Goers and senders are in this together.
God will allow us to share alike. Paul called on people to strive together with him in prayer.
My question for you would be, are you in the battle? Maybe as a goer or a sender you are doing your part. If not you need to get in the battle today.
There is no excuse not to be doing your part. Praying, giving, and going all work together to get the gospel to the world. Help disciple, teach, and train others to go if that is the calling of God on their lives. But no matter what get in the battle, grab the sword, get on your knees, tell others of Jesus, get the gospel to the world.
