Joshua 5:14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
When Joshua sees the man with his sword drawn he immediately wants to know whose side he is on. The answer is that this man is the captain of the hosts of the Lord. He is not on a side. We are to be on His side.
So often we want God to come and do what we have in mind. We expect Him to line up with us when the opposite is the goal. When Joshua hears who he is and what he wants Joshua immediately asks Him to give instructions.
Today as we come into the presence of the Lord will we come asking Him to help us and to do as we want or will we come asking the God of Heaven to work in our lives according to His will. Will we be asking or giving instructions.
I want His will in my life. I want to serve Him. I want to quit asking Him to do for me and begin to do what He asks of me!
