Numbers 11:1 And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
We are a complaining people. Things are never all that they should be. People do not treat us like they should. God doesn’t meet our needs like we expect Him to. We have too many problems.
We simply are not satisfied and content with what we have, the treatment we receive, even the life that we have. So we complain. We complain to ourselves, in our spirits. We complain to our friends. We complain in prayer.
Basically we want God and others to know that we deserve better than we are getting.
When God’s people complained in this passage it displeased Him. I understand them though. That is the problem. Things weren’t comfortable. The food was varied enough. They were constantly moving. Things weren’t what they were used to. They expected to have it better quicker and easier than it was working out.
Do you understand them?
God didn’t and He wasn’t pleased! How does my complaining stack up to this passage?
