Thinking about it too late!

Mark 14:72 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

Peter talked when he should have thought! I am so guilty of this. Jesus had warned him. Peter had clearly and boldly proclaimed that he would not have this problem-he would never deny the Lord. Even if the others did deny Jesus Peter was sure that he never would, but he did.

How many times does the Holy Spirit have to cause me to remember something that He has already told me after I mess up? How many times am I too willful to listen? I am sure that I will not have this problem and then it happens.

Today I want to take from this verse that I will think before I act. That I will try to be sensitive to the Word of God and the Holy Spirit so that I do not fall into something that I have already been warned about.

I do not want to be thinking about it after I have already made the mistake. I would far rather think about it before hand!
