Good tidings and peace

Nahum 1:15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

There comes a man bringing good news and spreading the words of peace. Can you imagine the joy of hearing such words when you are at war or under affliction. It causes me to think of the millions all around the world that are in danger of death and hell. They have no answers. Their guilt afflicts them day and night. They drink, dance, party, play, and even worship in hopes of finding peace and good news but there is none.

Outside of Jesus Christ there is no good news. They need some to come traveling that will share the good news. All over the world they sit in spiritual darkness, They have no answer for their spiritual problems. They work at becoming numb to them. They need to forget. They need not to think on them because all the problems do is bring despair and fear.

Yet here we sit with the good news that could change their lives. We decide that we have it and that is enough. We spend our lives keeping the good news to ourselves. We don’t publish, we rarely even mention the good news.

How sad can that be? How selfish can we be? Let’s go publish the good news. Let’s cross the mountains and tell others that Jesus saves and that there is hope!
