Daniel 5:22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
This story so much reminds me of us. Belshassar knew better. He knew the story of his dad and how God had clearly shown him and the entire kingdom that he was not to be lifted up in pride. He showed him clearly how great the God of Israel was yet his son acted like he had no idea.
Are we guilty of that? Do we know plenty about the things of God yet refuse to honor and respect God and His Word? As a pastor in the USA I am afraid that the majority of our people do know too much. They do not even need to be reminded. God is good. They know that. God does hate sin and they know that. God does have a will for our lives and they know that.
It is not the knowing that is our hang up it is the obedience. We are not in trouble for a lack of knowledge but for a lack of yieldedness. We know what God wants us to do we just do not want to do so.
I think even that the majority of us say, we know what God wants us to do, we just do not want to do it today! We will serve and honor God tomorrow.
Today is the day. Do not fall into the trap of thinking that you have plenty of time. Do today what you are going to do for God.
