Jeremiah 1:8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
God has called Jeremiah. He has plans of using Jeremiah for great things. Jeremiah is afraid. He knows that he does not have the ability to do what God wants him to do. God reminds Jeremiah that God is the one that called him, gave him the message, and will be with him.
So Jeremiah is not to be afraid. God will be with him and will deliver him. That is God’s personal promise to Jeremiah.
As we go forth to witness to people today whether it be in the comfort and security of America or in some “creative access” or “closed” country this same promise is for us. God will take care of us.
That does not mean that we will not be persecuted. It does not mean that everyone will accept our message. It actually indicates that we will need delivering.
Can I remind you that God did deliver Stephen. Even though Stephen was stoned to death, Jesus was waiting on him to receive him into heaven.
As missionaries you may experience some major discomfort. You may be expelled from your country but far better to be doing what you were sent to do than to live in fear.
A friend has a quote that is so good,
“Christ cannot be famous as long as Christians remain anonymous.†– Bro. Aaron
Today, let’s not be afraid of their faces. Let’s tell someone about Jesus.
