Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
The secret to perfect peace is where you put your mind. It is your causing your mind to think of the things that will honor God.
We are to stay our mind on God. He is to be the focus of our thoughts. Who He is! What He does! What He has done! What He wants! His person, His plan, His purpose, and all about Him should consume our thoughts.
The idea here isn’t that I will constantly believe that God is going to hear and answer my prayers and meet my needs but that God is going to be the center of my thoughts.
I can trust Him to do only what will bring honor and glory to Him. I am here to do His will and to serve at His pleasure.
Our problem is that we think that God serves to give us what we want. He will meet our needs. He will make us happy. He is a big “genie” in a bottle that is there just to grant us our wishes but nothing could be further from the truth.
We do not deserve our salvation. We do not deserve to be loved. He doesn’t love us because we are so good. He loves us because He is good.
I challenge you to focus on Him and His person. I challenge you to lay down your life to God and let Him rule and reign in your life in this year.
As we take ourselves all of the throne of our lives and let Him have His rightful place we will be granted perfect peace. A peace that passes all understanding.
