Isaiah 10:15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.
This is to everyone that reads it a very obvious conclusion. We know that the axe is of no value unless it is in the hands of a master axeman. The saw can’t accomplish anything unless it is being used. It would be ridiculous for the staff a piece of wood to think that it could lift up itself as if it weren’t wood.
After all, all these things are but tools in the hands of the master. If we begin to think that we are something or that we have accomplish much in our lives we forget that we are simply tools in the hands of the Lord God and He is doing the work.
The accomplishments are not ours but His. As we come together to worship and one preaches and another sings it is so easy to think of how we are doing a good work and people are being touched but the truth is that it is God that chooses to use us.
It is important that we give him all the praise and honor and glory for what He is doing. It is after all Him that uses us and we are but tools, pieces of wood and metal that He forms into a tool and uses.
it would be wise to make mention that His name is glorified, not ours. Isaiah 12:4 We are to declare His doings not ours. Let’s praise the Lord that He would stoop to use us for His honor and glory.
