Proverbs 22:24-25 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
You learn from your friends. You become like your friends. How can two walk together and not be in agreement. Amos 3:3. The wise man teaches his son to not be friends with angry, furious people. Great problems can develop from that type of friendship.
You will learn his ways and though you are not normally an angry person you will learn to be. The greatest danger is that anger sets a trap for you. It will destroy you.
Furious men always get involved in sin Proverbs 29:22. The angry man will cause a way to stir up strife. This will only bring a snare to your soul.
As I read this I think of how television programs, video clips, movies, etc can do the same thing. They can cause us to become angry people. This anger will then cause problems in our lives and in the lives around us.
Let’s be careful not to let anger ruin our lives and testimonies. Let’s be careful not to form friendships with people that will have this devastating affect on us.
Then the last consideration for today is that if an angry person can have this affect on us what about a covetous person. We must remember that we will become like our friends. If you become friendly with lust filled people it will affect you.
If money is the motivating factor in your friend’s life then it will be for you in a matter of time.
Choose friendship carefully. Associate with godly people. Do not let Satan set a trap for you based on misguided friendships.
