Psalm 94:17 Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
Psalm 27:13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Psalm 119:92 Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.
As I read the Scriptures this morning I was thinking of obstacles that have been placed in my path. I think about what I am supposed to be doing. I know that God is the only answer and nothing has surprised Him so I feel very strangely calm.
I noticed the word unless in the first verse mentioned above. It brought to mind exactly how I feel often and maybe you have had the same problem. Problems can overwhelm us. But then comes the word “unless.”
The word unless means
1 : except on the condition that : under any other circumstance than
2 : without the accompanying circumstance or condition that : but that : but
I would be at the end of my rope BUT: the Lord is my help!
I would faint BUT I believe that I will see the goodness of the Lord!
I would die BUT your Word is my delight!
What is going on in your life? What has you discouraged and wondering if you can go on? I have a word for you today-UNLESS.
Thank God I am saved. Thank God I do know that I can believe God and His Word and know that He will be my help.
I challenge you to get back to the Word, back to believing the Word, back to obeying the Word. God is at work and we can trust Him.
