Psalm 69:30-31 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.Notice the phrase, this also shall please the Lord better than! When I read that I was really excited. The Jews knew how important it was to offer sacrifices. They knew that God demanded and was pleased by their sacrifices. But then David says I know something that pleases Him even more. David said that praising God with a song or magnifying Him with thanksgiving was even more pleasing. Now the question is do you ever think about the fact that God really loves it when we sing a song that praises His name. Maybe you think of the music as simply a prelude to the preaching. This verse could change your thinking. It pleases Him to hear praises sung to Him! Time comes for you to share a word of testimony. Maybe you think of that as something small but if you use your testimony to magnify the Lord Jesus then God is more pleased than with the sacrifices of the Old Testament. Could I challenge to take seriously the song service? Could I challenge you to be ready to praise and magnify the Lord with thanksgiving when given the opportunity in a church service? For that matter you can do the same thing when you are talking with your friends, writing an email, a text, or a blog post. He wants to be sung to! He wants to hear thanksgiving that praises His name. Thank you to all those that do so much to lead us in music at Vision. Thank you for praying over the music that we will sing. Thank you for all the practice. Thank you for all the specials that you sing. He is pleased. Fact is it pleases Him better!
