Psalm 5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
David needs God to lead him because he has many enemies. He is in fear of losing his life. He wants God to make His path straight and clear to him.
As I read this I thought of all the decisions that we have to make each day. We need God to lead us. We need Him to make our path straight as well. We do not face the kind of enemies that David did. Saul is not pursuing us and trying to kill us. The Philistines are not hot on our trail.
But Satan, sin, and self are out to destroy us. They will get us off track in a minute if given the chance. They are as real an enemy as any that David faced.
Every day you are faced with many decisions, choices. These choices will determine much about your life and much about the blessings of God on your life. You never think of them as all that important.
you never consider that each decision is a battle to put either you or God first. If you choose a certain thing you will not have the time or ability to serve God like you should. But you think I will have more money but then you will draw away from God and the money will never actually be used for God. That is a trap for you.
There is a person of the opposite sex that needs a friend. You just want to be a blessing and when you befriend this person you actually make the wrong choice that will lead you away from God and even your family.
Where you work, who your friends are, the activities that you will take part in are all important decisions that you really need God to guide you in.
I challenge you to seek Him. Make decisions based on putting Him first and yourself last. Decide to do what He wants you to do!
