Ezra 9:9 For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
Ezra writes about how God has worked among His people. I love the things that he says and they are my prayer today for God’s people, everywhere, that are wanting to serve Him.
God has not forsaken us either. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. We can be sure that is true. He knows the condition that we are in. He understands our economy. The offerings may be down in our churches, the enemy may be attacking, but God has not forsaken us!
I ask Him today to extend us His mercy and give us a reviving so that we can do the work that He has for us to do as a church, as Christians, as His servants. God is able to work among us and give us a hunger like never before to do His work. I ask Him for that. I ask for a fresh, special move of the Holy Spirit among His people and especially at Vision Baptist Church.
I ask Him to build His church. I ask Him so send forth laborers to His harvest. I ask Him to help us repair the work of the true church in our generation.
Church is being mocked by many. The church has hurt so many that some are saying come to our church and it will not be like the church that your grandmother attended. That could be good if your grandmother attended a dead, dry church and the power of God was no longer there but it can be bad if it means a church that does nothing in my life but make me feel good.
Oh, God give us a reviving. Help us to see your hand on us as never before!
