2Kings 19:14 And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
What do you do when you get bad news? What do you do with the things that are worrying you? How do you handle the stress in life?
Hezekiah’s answer would be that he takes the threatening letter and goes into the presence of God. There he spreads out the letter before the Lord. He knows that his problems are bigger than he can handle but they are not bigger than what God can handle. He confidently goes to God with his problem knowing that God will have a solution. And He did.
Now the question is what are you going to do right now? You have tried long enough to manage your life on your own. There is so much to deal with. You have the stress of all of modern life on you. There are things happening every day that you never expected. What are you going to do?
Prayer is your best friend. You need to spend time with God on a consistent basis. I challenge you to give God a chance to talk to you every day. Then I challenge you to talk to Him every day.
He talks to you when you are still and quiet before Him allowing Him to speak through His Word. You speak to Him in prayer when you simply take your needs and spread them out before the Lord. Let your requests be made known to Him. Then thank Him for answering your prayers even before you finish that very prayer.
