Payday Someday

November 17, 2009 By Austin Gardner Leave a Comment

2Kings 9:36 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

R. G. Lee had a very famous sermon by this title and based on this story. The lost man often seems to get away with his wicked lifestyle. Sometimes that is very discouraging to someone who tries to do right. We have seen Naboth killed unjustly. We wondered where God was. Why didn’t God rescue Naboth.

But God will always right the scale. It has been a long time now. Maybe everyone had begun to wonder if it was worth it to honor God, but God had not forgotten. Now Ahab and Jezebel have both the price for their sin on earth and will throughout eternity.

I want to encourage you to know that things do not always work out in the short run of life. You can honor and seek the Lord with all that you have. Things can still go seemingly wrong. But God will always fulfill His Word. He will always take care of things correctly.

Sin will be paid for. God will care for His children.

Please however know that as born again Christians by His grace that our sins were paid for on Calvary. There is now no condemnation for us. Romans 8:1 However sin even in our lives does bring its consequences and can leave its scars.

Choose to serve God. Trust Him. Don’t look on your lost friend and think that maybe it isn’t worth it to serve God. It is.
