Deuteronomy 11:16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
God has promised His people, Israel, that if they will just follow Him and honor Him that He will be blessing them. He is going to send the rain, grass, and all they need.
All He asks is that they honor and love Him for who He is. He said that the promises and blessings would come from Him. He would meet their needs.
There is an inherent danger in blessings. When things are going good we get busy. We get too busy to pray. We get to busy to honor Him. We begin to think that the good things that He is sending our way is from something we are doing.
We wouldn’t need to be warned repeatedly if this wasn’t a problem. We enjoy great blessings. We have our health, life, family, friends, income, housing, etc. If you were to visit much of the world you would find that we all live at a far higher standard than the majority of the world.
Yet is is easier to see the poor of the world listen to, hear God, and obey Him.
That ought not to be true of each of us. As you read this devotional consider your life. How are your living? Are you living in gratitude? Are you recognizing His blessing each day or will you have to lose them to miss them?
Don’t let the prosperity fool you. You still need God. You need His touch. You must be saved by His grace. You must seek Him and honor Him.
As we read through the Bible let’s listen to the warnings and heed what they say. Let’s serve and obey the One that has done so much in our lives and for us!
