Numbers 11:1 And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
God had blessed Israel beyond imagination. He had brought them out of slavery. He had provided them with food everyday. He was giving them direction for every step of their life.
But there were some in the group that couldn’t stop thinking about how good it used to be. They remembered the good times and of course forgot the bad times. Now they are all complaining to God. He gets very angry and disciplines them.
The question that comes to my mind is; are we satisfied with what God is doing in our lives? He has been good to us but in the middle of the battle, in the middle of everyday life, we forget the benefits and remember the complaints. We see our problems as bigger than our blessings. Would you admit to having this problem?
Would you admit that you often see all that is facing you and forget how He has brought you to here. Do you know that He has provided you manna but wish that He would give you something else. I have this problem many times. I have to remember that He knows what I need and when I need it. He will work things out.
Praise pleases God. Complaining displeases God. Which are you doing?
How much praise has come out of your mouth lately? How are you looking at your situation?
Are you satisfied with what God is doing in your life?
