God moves in the affairs of men

October 7, 2009 By Austin Gardner Leave a Comment

Genesis 45:8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

God is working behind the scenes. We think that we are doing it or that it is a coincidence but God is at work.

Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers. He is now living and working in Egypt. When they realize that he is alive and they are standing before him under his power they are afraid. Joseph tells them that they are not at fault. God was at work all the time.

He surely had thought that it was their fault he was a slave. They had thought that they had done things to him but it was God.

Now Joseph stands in Egypt being used of God. Looking back Joseph can see that it was God that had been at work in his life.

The question for you today is to ask yourself how much of your life has just been an accident or a coincidence? How much of it has been under the control of God? What has He been doing in your life? How often and how much do you fight against a greater plan that God has for you?

Could it be that God has allowed all this to happen to you for a purpose? Could it be that He has brought you to where you are today for a purpose? Could it be that instead of licking your wounds you should be asking God what He is doing and what He wants you to do with what He has done?

God moves in our lives! He is at work. He has a far greater and over riding plan. Our problem is that we think too horizontally and not enough vertically. We see what we do and what happens to us and rarely consider that God is at work in our lives for a purpose!
