Philippians 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
We are usually so focused on ourselves and what we want that we have little time to think of others. This is what has led to so much selfishness and hurt feelings among God’s people.
This is what has hindered the cause of Christ and world evangelism so greatly. I suppose that all godly families will work and pray to be sure that their children hear the gospel. They will be praying, taking them to church, getting them around God’s people, etc. We must do what we can to get our family saved.
The question is what are we doing to think of someone that is not our family? Do you pray for others? Do you give to send the gospel to others? Do you work at witnessing and getting the gospel to others?
There is nothing wrong with being concerned for our own things. He just tells us to also be concerned for the things of others.
I would be worried about a Christian who would not be concerned that his family know the Lord Jesus. I would question the salvation of a dad and mom who did not do all that they could to get the gospel to their children.
Now can we begin to think of others also?
