Ephesians 6:19-20 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Paul asks for prayer. He wants God to give Him power when he speaks. He wants boldness to speak. He wants to say the right thing when he speaks.
Paul is in prison here in this verse. He is easily at hand for threats, abuse, and punishment but he still wants to talk about Jesus.
You and I are born again by the grace of God. We need to be speaking to others about our faith. We lack, boldness, the right words and power to speak just like Paul did.
We need to pray for these every day just like we find Paul doing here. We need to keep our eyes open for open doors or opportunities to speak about the Lord Jesus all the time.
God is going to work through us to get the gospel to others. A gospel tract, a letter, a note, a phone call, a personal conversation, or whatever we have the opportunity to do should be our chance to speak boldly about the Lord Jesus and what He did on Calvary.
The majority of the world will never want to hear. They will mock us and our God. We know that. But there are people right now that are just waiting for someone to share the gospel with them.
The Holy Spirit has already prepared their hearts. They want to hear. We never know who they are so we have to be bold and speak and wait to God uses our words to take His Word to their hearts.
Lets ask for boldness to speak!
