Ephesians 3:16-19 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
It is my prayer today for us to allow this verse to work in our lives. We need to be strengthened in the inner man.
Deep inside we want to know that we are loved and accepted but there seems to be something that doesn’t accept the love of Christ. We want to think that for some reason God doesn’t love us even though we are born again. We think that we do not measure up to what He wants or expects from us.
We feel like our relationship is performance based.
We can accept the love of our spouse, our children or our parents but have a problem accepting the love that He has promised us.
Please pay attention to the verse. We need to be strengthened in the inner man. It is not something that we do to ourselves but something He does. His Spirit strengthens us.
When you got saved the Holy Spirit moved in. He took up residence in you.
We are loved. Our problem is that we will not believe what He has promised. We will not accept by faith that we are loved.
Whether we do or not does not change the fact that we are loved.
But wouldn’t it be good if we would just believe Him. Wouldn’t it be good if we would just accept that we are accepted! Ephesians 1:6
Paul prayed that we would be able to comprehend such great love. The love of Christ passes all understanding.
This morning if you are born again you are already chosen. You are in the family. You are loved, accepted, blessed with all blessings in heavenly places, seated in the heavenlies, and loved.
You can accept the fact, believe it or not but it will not change how good our God is and how much He loves us.
We need to be strengthened in the inner man to believe just how much He loves us and to understand.
