Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
It starts with thinking that you are very smart, very wise. You know enough not to need to follow God’s will and warnings. It works that way with others but not with you. You are different. Romans 1:22. You think you know but you are a fool.
As you begin to believe that you can do what you want and what God in His Word says isn’t that important God allows you enough rope to hang yourself. Little by little the sin takes more and more control of you and your life. It is going to destroy you and your family.
Then we come to the verse for today. It is you! You do not want to acknowledge God. You do not want to have Him in your thoughts. You are running from God. You are ignoring Him all that you can. You really don’t want to consider what God might want in this situation. God is good and has His place and His things but not in your life and your every decision.
So God gives you up to a reprobate mind. That means you have not passed the test. You are disapproved. Remember you always have an excuse for what you are doing. You would never admit that it is your fault. You are even known to blame God for your problem.
Since you will not allow God in your thoughts He gives you up to do things that are wrong. They are wicked. They are far more vile than you ever thought you would be capable of. You would be extremely embarrassed if your friends, your family, your parents, your children knew what you had lowered yourself to do.
Be warned. Seek God. Try to find what would be His will for your life. Do not push Him away. Get to every place where you can hear more and learn more from Him about what He wants and what His Word says.
It is not too late. Stop the slow drift that is leading you away from a life of seeking God and finding His will. Hurry back to the altar and say-not my will but thine. Get your mind focused on Him and what He wants.
If not you are going to go to far. You are going to go farther than you ever wanted to do. It is going to be horrible. Stop today. Repent. Do right. Seek God.
