Luke 8:39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
Can you imagine the story with me for a minute? The man was demon possessed. He lived in bondage to sin. Sin had made a fool of him. Sin had destroyed all of his relationships. He lived cut off from society. It was as though he had no family members that loved him. I am sure that he had a mother and daddy. I am sure that he had brothers and sisters. Where are they?
Sin has separated everyone from him. His life is destroyed.
Then came Jesus. He freed him from his sin and the bondage. The man wanted to go with Jesus but was told no you go back home. Tell everyone what great things Jesus has done in your life.
He has done the same things in our life. We don’t think of ourselves as being in such bad shape but we too were slaves to sin. John 8:34 We too were on our way to hell. Sin is a destroyer.
Then He forgave us and gave us new life. Now it is time to go home and tell everyone what Jesus has done in our lives. This man published big time what Jesus had done. He told everyone. He was excited.
How many people have you told about what Jesus has done in your life? How excited are you that He has saved you and transformed your life? We should tell the world what He has done.
If we have nothing to tell that is a whole other story! It certainly wasn’t you or the church that changed you. It was Him. We did not pull ourselves up by our boot straps. Jesus made the difference.
This morning as I read through the blogs that come in I saw where a man talked about how their church grew. It was definitely a good point. This should be a reality in your life and in our church as well!
I love my church
So they’ll tell their friends:
You’ve got to come check out my churchThe friends come.
We worship Jesus and preach the Gospel with excellence. The friends leave saying:
I really like this churchInspiring them to come back again and again until they say:
I love my churchAnd tell their friends:
You’ve got to come check out my church…
We should be so excited about what Jesus and the Word of God are doing in our hearts that we tell it every where we go!
