Philippians 4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
In this verse Paul is talking about the missionary offering that they sent him. He says that he didn’t want them giving to him because he wanted a gift but because as they gave God would see their gift and add fruit to their account. So as Paul ministered, preaching, and evangelizing they could particpate with him in the ministry. They would help him but they would also get the blessing of sharing in his rewards.
So when you give you can be part of the work. You can get spiritual blessings and rewards as you colabor with your brothers in the ministry. You can through the faith promise ministry of our church participate in a ministry in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, China, Morocco, Northern Ireland, Peru, South Africa and Venezuela.
As they stand to preach we stand with them. As they are rewarded with fruit to their account we will also be rewarded. Paul said it wasn’t the money that interested him but the fruit to his account.
You may not go. You may not preach but you can be blessed by participating. I hope you will get you an envelope and begin giving every week.
First give to support our church. Help us reach our community and area with the gospel. Help us as we train future missionaries to go. Keep the light burning strongly here at home.
Then mark your envelope or check for missions and help us help those that we as a church have partnered with. You can make a difference. You are making a difference. Let’s support missionaries!
