I am often asked how I can always seem to have such a passion for world evangelism. How is it that I can feel a passion for the world? Here are a few ideas and I will share more in a later post.
First, you have to see the multitude. You have to see beyond yourself to others. Matthew 14:14
Next, I think the key is loving God Psalm 37:4. When you love Him you will love what He loves. He loves the world John 3:16. He sent His Son to die for lost souls. As you love God and give yourself more and more to Him you will feel what He feels.
Also obedience plays a big part in feeling a passion. We are to control our thoughts. We do not allow our minds to think what they want rather we think on these things. Philippians 4:8.
If I am going to control my thoughts I will need to read, study, think, pray, and make a conscious effort to keep the things of God on my mind. To think about His passion of getting His name and His word to the world.
If you could but put yourself in their place you would want someone to care about you and bring you the gospel. You and I have been super blessed. We have the gospel right here where we live. If you do not want to get saved it is because you do not want to. Many of them have never heard. They have no choice.
You will love what you invest in. You will have a passion for where you put your money. Do you invest in world evangelism? Do you give to missions and missionaries? Where your treasure is there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21
Then lastly, I challenge you to make a trip to the field. Meet the missionaries. See the need. Then no matter what let that affect you. It should cause you to give more, pray more, and get more interested in world evangelism.
If you make a trip to the field and then come back the same then all you did was take a vacation. Your giving should reflect very clearly that you made a trip to the mission field. That you know what others do not know. You know the need. You care. And you are involved in getting the gospel to the field.
I would love to have your questions and comments about this. What do you think? Do you feel a passion to get the gospel to the world? Did you make a trip and see all of that and remain unchanged? Did your giving significantly increase after your trip to the field?
