Ezekiel 2:5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
This was the theme verse of the Peru Bible College when I was there. We can’t guarantee that the people will listen because most are rebellious but we can be sure and be men of God. Ezekiel was told that they wouldn’t listen to him but that wasn’t the important thing. The important part was that they would know that they had had a man of God among them.
At your work, in your ministry, in your family you may not be able to make the difference you wish you could but you can be a man or woman of God. The people may be hard and not listen but they should at least know that there is a man or woman of God among them.
It is hard for me to remember. It is easy for me to preach and hard for me to practice but the lesson here is that ours is the process and His is the product. All we can do is be what He told us to be and allow Him to do the work.
So regardless of the results I challenge you and me to be faithful to be men of God. I challenge you to do what is right and to please Him that saved us and called us and leave God to do the work. We are to bear witness to Him and His Word. We are to live lives that exhibit His work, His power, and a testimony to Him.
No matter what the results we see let’s be sure that they will have to say that they knew a man or woman of God was in their presence.
