Gretchen, Norah, and I finally made it home a couple of nights ago. The Lord blessed us with a full schedule and some great meetings this past month. We spent over two months on the road visiting churches in New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Alabama. Three churches took us on for support and several others told us that they would vote on it in the near future and let us know. Currently we have 89% of what we need to get to the field.
This month we have meetings in Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee, and Michigan. I’m still scheduling a few more months out, but my calendar is filling up fast. Our goal, Lord willing, is to be in Morocco by the end of the year.
Being on the road for two months has made it difficult for Gretchen to visit her midwife on a regular basis. Thankfully though we have friends and family who are able to help with the necessities. Last week we went to the hospital where my mother is the head nurse, and we got the chance to get another ultrasound taken. We were happy to see that the baby is healthy, growing well, and during this visit we found out as well that we are expecting our first son. His due date has been set as the first week of October.
My good friend and team member, Felipe, is continuing to raise his funds in South America and is getting ready to move to Morocco around the same time as our family. In his last prayer letter he asks for our prayers for his wife, Lucia. He wrote,
“Since [Lucia] was very young, she has had a fibroid on the right side of her chest… She has recently been experiencing strong pain in her chest and right arm… This week we are going to another specialist to see what the diagnosis is… We are confident that the Lord has everything in control, and that he will provide us with the right counsel, right doctor, and the surgery if it is necessary.â€
Please pray for Felipe and his family as they face this challenge.
We are excited about where the Lord is leading our team and the doors that He has already opened. The need for laborers has never been greater. You can make a difference through your prayers. Thank you for the part you have in North Africa.
