How to renew your strength

May 17, 2009 By Austin Gardner 1 Comment

Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I think the way to renew your strength is to wait on the Lord. I have heard that all of my life. But did you notice what it said here.

First, we would do well to recognize who we are waiting on. He is:

the everlasting God

the Lord

the Creator

He never faints

He never gets tired

there is no way we will ever understand Him and His intelligence, His power, and His mind

He is the power giver

He is the one that increases strength

So once we recognize who He is then we will see that it is worth our time to wait in His presence. It is worth it to expect great things from Him. He is God. I am needy. He can do the work.

I want to run out and try to get it done. I depend on my knowledge, my youth, my strength and He is saying all along, you can’t I can. If you will look to me, expect from me, trust me, then I will do great things in your life.

Waiting is not a tool for getting but a position of worship. He is all of that. I have come to look to Him and consider Him. I have come to say to Him I recognize who you are and I recognize who I am.

I wait on you to see what you want to do with me.

Great post today. I know that this applies to our lives much more than we consider many times.
