Psalm 107:8-9 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
Psalm 107 seems to have a definite chorus to its song and it is “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” It is repeated four times in 43 verses. Obviously God wants to get this truth across to us. He wants men to praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works!
In the chapter He is praised for many things. His mercy endureth forever! His people got into trouble and called on Him and He heard and answered their prayer. They sinned, He punished them and they came back when they were in trouble and He still helped them. They get into major trouble on life’s sea and He helps them again. He meets their needs and when things aren’t going right He moves in and makes a difference.
He is to be praised. He has done and is doing great things. I would challenge you today to read the entire Psalm 107:1-43. Notice the things that they praised the Lord for. Then think of things that He is doing in your life.
Take heart because you will see that they were in trouble and yet He heard and answered their prayers so look at where you are. Seek Him. Pray and He will hear and answer your prayer.
Notice that they were not doing right and He still worked in their lives and they knew it and He answered their prayers.
Where ever you are. He will hear and answer. He will bring you to Himself. We should praise the Lord today. He is good.
Praise Him for His goodness and His wonderful works!
