Pastor’s Note for tomorrow’s bulletin

April 4, 2009 By Austin Gardner Leave a Comment

Faith is the hallmark word of our lives. We begin today a study of Hebrews 11. This chapter is called the Faith Chapter. It tells us how God’s people expressed their confidence, trust, and belief in Him. Hebrews 11:6 tells us clearly that without faith it is impossible to please Him. I hope that over the next few weeks you will learn how to have faith.

Today I hope to explain to you how faith works. How it is that God’s people have been so greatly used by Him to accomplish great things and how you will be able to do the same. Don’t miss any of the following weeks as we go about seeing God’s great work in the lives of His people.

Next Sunday is Easter. It is a day that more people go to church than ever. I hope you will make every effort to invite your friends and family to come and be with you. This is maybe the one service of the year when they are most likely to go to church. Your invitation maybe all that it will take to get them into His house and to hear His Word. This just might be the week that they will be saved. Pray and invite all that you can.

The message next week, Easter, will be Worshipping in Faith. To worship is not enough. We must worship in spirit and in truth. We must worship in faith. Our own merit, works, morality is not worship of God but of ourselves. Don’t miss it.

God bless each of you. I want to say a big thank you to all of you for being so kind to Betty and me with the special offering. That covered our plane fare to Peru. I never expected it and feel very deeply grateful for all you do and have done. God has blessed us greatly here at Vision.

Let’s worship Him together today.

Betty and I want to thank you very much for your prayers for our family. Thank you for praying for Joy, Benjamin, and Lelia. One of the greatest blessings in the world is a strong church family that will love you in the good times as well as the hard times. Thank you!
