Psalm 32:8-9 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
I want to be sensitive to the leadership of the Lord. I want to know what He wants me to do. I do not want Him to have to yell at me or hit me over the head with it. I want to have a tender heart and be looking to Him for His guidance.
He promises to instruct us and teach us in the way that we should go. That should be abundantly clear from plenty of verses. So getting or finding God’s will is not the hard part of the formula. My willingness to listen is the important thing.
Notice that He will guide us with His eye. That means we are so clearly looking Him in the eyes that He can communicate what He wants to us without words.
Notice He didn’t say He would use His voice. That means that He did not want to have to yell at us to get us to do things.
I am not sure how many of our people know what God wants them to do but continuing waiting on Him to make it even more clear than He already has. Are you sensitive to His leadership? Do you look and listen from the eyes and heart?
God help us not be like the horse or mule that will not understand and has to have external forces applied to get them to do what their master wants them to do. Don’t be an animal in your relationship with the Lord.
So the question for today is, are you reading the Bible and listening to see what He wants? Has He been speaking to you in devotions, church services, prayer time or whatever about what He wants you to do? Have you been rebellious or could you say that you are sensitive.
Today I pray that He will help me to be more sensitive to His voice!
