Job 19:25-26 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
What a declaration of faith that Job gives. Literally everything that can go wrong has! His health is gone, his family dead, his wealth gone but he can still say that he knows that his Redeemer lives and that even if he dies he will see God.
Isn’t that getting the really important thing out of life and whatever is going on. The things don’t matter. Life doesn’t even matter in the long run because we are all going to die. Bad health and death are on their way.
So could it be that we should use this verse and this passage to focus on what is real and of lasting value. Are you panicking over things with short term value? Do you think more in terms of money and material goods or of something of long term value?
The most important thing is that you know what would happen if the worse possible happened to you. Would you see your redeemer? Are you saved? Do you know that you would go to heaven? If you do not then that is worthy of your focus.
How is the spiritual life of your family? They don’t just die and go to Heaven. You hear people mention their loved ones that have died as though they are in Heaven even though they very likely never recognized their sin and never repented and never were born again. No all dogs nor all family does not go to heaven. Only those that have been born again by faith in Jesus Christ will be going to Heaven.
What are you doing with your talents, your money, your energy that has real lasting value? I fear that you spend so much time on the wrong things that you do not even think about what really matters.
Why did God allow you to be born in the USA? Why did He allow you to enjoy such blessings? Was it about you or about how you could serve?
Could it be that God has sent this crisis in America to make you focus on what really matters? That is what Job was doing. He knew that no matter what he was alright. I hope you do and if you do not then I hope you will let us help you here at Vision.
