Do Right leave Results to God

Esther 6:2-3 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.

Mordecai does what it right because it is right! He doesn’t do it for recognition. He doesn’t do so for reward but because it is what he should have done. God has a way of rewarding His people at just the right minute. Haman wants to kill the Jews and he especially hates Mordecai. There is really nothing that Mordecai can do but do right because Haman has the favor of the kill.

But when the time comes God will give Mordecai just what he needs. He will cause the king to find out what he did and reward him. It will end up being one of the things God uses to save the Jews.

It is so easy to do things for what we can get from those that we impress. We desperately want recognition but that leads to carnality an bondage. Those that can reward us and recognize us then become the all powerful ones in our lives. Mordecai had a different philosophy. He looked to God and God alone to meet his needs and reward him.

Think of the freedom. Mordecai did his job the best way he knew how. He had superiors who hated him and wanted to destroy him. Not only did they hate him but they tried to destroy him. He stood his ground. He did what was right and left the results to God.

It looks like the good deed has been forgotten. It looks like he did it to do right and will not be recognized or rewarded. He only seems to care if God is pleased. That should be the goal of our lives. As some have said we play to an audience of ONE! If He is pleased nothing else matters.

Haman is sure that he is the man. He knows that all is working out for him but God has another plan. I think that I prefer to trust God and His working rather than my scheming and straining to take care of myself. I challenge you today to do right and leave the results to God. Let Him take care of you. He knows exactly how and when it will be needed.
