Why are you here now?

Esther 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

This is the story of a young Jewish maid that God has blessed tremendously. She went from obscurity to become the king’s wife. She was beautiful. She had everything any young girl of her life could have wanted. She could have thought that she had it coming because of her beauty. She could have thought of herself and her on comfort and pleasure but God sent her family member to remind her of her greater calling or purpose.

That is what I want to do with you today. Why has God brought you to where you are? Why has He given you all that you have? What does He expect from you?

God will get His work done. For a long time I felt like that if I didn’t do my part maybe the work of God would be left undone but this verse says that God will one way or the other get it done. However if I do not do whatever it is that God has planned for my family then I must remember that I will rob my family and me of the blessings God has for us. It is my family that will suffer.

Then comes the most awesome question of all, could it be that God has been preparing you all along just for this? Could it be that He reached down into your family and did all that He has done just because He wants to use you for this purpose?

I do not know what the purpose is but He does and you probably do also. It has probably already crossed your mind. You are afraid of it and it has even caused you to draw away from God because you are afraid of your very purpose and what God would do with you.

Just remember, He will get His work done with you or without you. It is you and your family that will suffer the consequences of being outside of God’s will for your life!

  1. To God be the Glory, Honor, and Praise!!! He is so good, tender, merciful and righteous!!
For such a time as this?!! I’m awed at the job He’s given me; first of all, it is way too much fun!! I used to think doing His will was hard(well, sometimes it is, my husband has advanced MS and being a full-time caregiver, while a privilege, is also very hard work!), but this is a blast! When I first began searching out family history I decided it was way too time consuming, but a thought popped into my head with such force I felt it physically…
“the purpose of this project is to reveal the reality of Jesus Christ, and who He really is”!!!

Needless to say I jumped on it and God has provided all necessary time and tools. The information revealed has been astounding!! Our culture today is greatly influenced by an agnostic and evolutionary world view; and while original and/or reliable documents are in existence they are buried in library basements, private collections, and sometimes on the web but not in the classrooms. Our nation is raising a generation of practicing atheists and agnostics in too many public schools! Did you know there are three major publishers of textbooks, and they, along with the extremely liberal NEA, determine what the children of public schools learn?? Chilling!! AND where was the Church when prayer was taken out of schools? Where was the Church when Roe v. Wade went into effect? The Church, by historical heritage, is responsible for what happens in the government and the culture!!!
I am so honored to be in the families of Buttolph, Gardner, Harding, Holmes, Holcombe, and many others who had the courage to leave the very violent, but comfortable and familiar, England; your heritage and mine is the privilege to carry the precious Word of God to a very confused world.
My gggrandfather, Rev John Buttolph, was the second Baptist minister to settle in Michigan, 1826, he bought 210 acres of government land at 10 cents an acre! He had already preached some 11 years in Duchess County, New York when he moved here. In his private diary there is not one word of bitterness toward anyone, not one word of criticism, just thanksgiving to God, the wonder of His creation, and experiences along the way!!!
The stories of individual families is the heart of our nation, without these stories our nation is losing it’s bearings and going astray, leaving God as some kind of far off, ancient legend!!
But praise God, He is revealing Himself through many venues!
