2Chronicles 15:4 But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
These words, the title of this post, come from an old gospel song we used to sing when I was a child.
Troublesome times are here, filling men’s hearts with fear,
Freedom we all hold dear, now is at stake.
Humbling your heart to God saves from the chastening rod.
Seek the way pilgrims trod, Christians awake!
I believe the verse and the song sum up where we are right now. Our country is facing grave trouble. Men are afraid. Many worry about what is going to happen to our country. Could it be that God’s disciplining us? Could it be that men seek God more when they are in trouble than they do when all is going well?
Check out the verse. When they got in trouble they sought the Lord. I know that many of our friends are hurting right now. I know that fears are everywhere. Will I lose my job? Could I lose my house? Will I have a retirement? What is going to happen? I have never seen it like this before.
This is the time to seek the Lord. Many times we allow money to become the driving force in our lives. Things take control. Remember what Jesus said, Life is not a matter of what you have! Luke 12:15 Some will try to get you to focus on money more than ever now. Others are crisis and fear focused. It is time to be God focused.
They got in trouble in this verse. They sought the Lord and He was found of them. I do not know what you are going through but this much I know, you need God. He is ready for you to come. He is much more than a crisis manager, He is the Lord of the universe. He wants you to surrender your life to Him 100%.
Will you allow this trouble to make you bitter? Will you allow it to destroy your family? Will you allow it to steal your joy or will you seek the Lord and come out of this crisis far better than when you went in?
Yes troublesome times are here, filling men’s hearts with fear but God will hear and answer your prayer if you will humble yourself before Him.
