1Chronicles 5:20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
God’s people were in trouble. They are in the middle of a war. God helps His people and delivers their enemies into their hands. The verse explains the steps they took to get God’s blessing and God’s help.
They cried to God. They knew that they needed help that only God could give. They cry out to God in prayer and God heard them and answered their prayer. The key it says was that they put their trust in Him. They saw their need. They cried out to God. They trusted Him and He answered them.
We all have needs. We cry out to God in prayer. God can meet our needs but we often cry out only as a habit or ritual. God has the power to do something great in our lives. He can change us and do great things in us but we do not trust Him. We do not really believe that He will hear or that He will answer and meet our needs.
Hebrews 11:6 is clear. We must come believing. We believe that He is but not only that He exists but that He hears prayer and will reward those that seek Him.
You are faced with many circumstances. You have lost much of your hope. You do not know where to turn. You pray but you pray doubting. You pray without hope. You do not understand why God seems not to listen to you and to not hear and answer yet you do not trust Him.
I challenge you in the time of crisis to go to God and to believe Him. Believe that He cares and that He will hear and answer. Pray trusting. Pray expecting God to hear and answer. Thank Him as you pray knowing that God will do a work in your life. Philippians 4:6
