2Kings 7:9 Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household. God’s people were prisoners in their own city. Things had gotten so bad that they were eating dove’s dung and even their own children. Death was on every side. God’s people were suffering. Just outside the city sat four lepers. They had finally gotten to the point that they just gave up and stepped out on nothing ready to die. They figured that if they stayed at the gates they would die or if they went to the enemy’s camp they would die or just maybe they would live. But they just decided that they had no where else to go and no other options. They went to the camp of the enemy. The enemy had fled and food, clothing and money was every where. They began to stuff themselves with food after having starved for many days. They began to get the riches and hide them. Then one remarked. Today is a great day. This is a day of good news. What we are doing is wrong. We are enjoying great blessings when we know that our brethren are still starving. We must go tell them. This is a clarion call to take the gospel to the world. People are dying without any knowledge of God. We have the good news. We know the truth. Will we sit here without telling anyone? That is not right. We must get up and go tell the world that Jesus Christ saves. You have neighbors that do not know Jesus as their Saviour. They have no idea how to be saved. They have no idea how to enjoy the abundant life. Will you keep quiet? Will you tell? The question is what will you do with the good news? Tell someone today about what Jesus has done for you!
